Jammu : Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ), Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma Wednesday visited government schools including Government Girls Higher Secondary School Jakh and other offices in district Samba of Jammu division to review and take stock of the functioning of the educational institutions.
During the visit, he interacted with the staff members and students and enquired about the facilities, functioning and other aspects of day to day working.
Giving a patient hearing to the students about the issues being faced by them due to the COVID-19 restrictions and consequent loss of academic activities, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma assured them of every possible help to compensate for the lost time.
He advised the teaching staff to take a holistic view of the situation and adopt creative methods to reach out to students during these pandemic times.
Expressing satisfaction over the increasing attendance of children in schools, the Director complimented the teaching staff for their efforts in bringing the educational activities back on track.
The habits and routines of the students have changed due to the extended closure of schools and would require special efforts from the teachers and mentors to streamline the in-class teaching and socialize the students back into a routine, he added. Dr. Ravi directed the heads of educational institutions to ensure that students do not face any difficulty in achieving the goal of quality education and advised them to provide every possible facility.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma was accompanied by Chief Education Officer Samba, Onkar Chand Sharma besides other officials during the visit.
