Pr Secy School Education inaugurates two day ‘Divisional Level Kala Utsav 2021’

Jammu :Principal Secretary, School Education, B K Singh, Tuesday inaugurated two day long ‘Divisional Level Kala Utsav 2021’ being organized by the Directorate of School Education.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Joint Director, DSEJ, H R Pakhroo, Chief Education Officer, Suraj Singh Rathore and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Pertinently, Kala Utsav is a regular feature of the academic calender with an aim to promote finer arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students. It also recognizes the importance of aesthetics and artistic experiences which play a major role in creating awareness about the rich cultural heritage of India and its vibrant diversity.
The winners of district level competitions, held earlier, competed in 5 different categories today to exhibit their talent and reserve a berth in the J&K Level competitions with an eye on the national level competition. A total of 20 students from 10 districts of Jammu division represented their respective districts.
Speaking on the occasion, BK Singh appreciated the efforts put in by the students and their mentors and wished them good luck for the competition and future endeavors. He asked the teachers to adopt a student centric approach so that all round development of the students can be achieved.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma expressed pleasure over the pool of talent at display and lauded the students and teachers for making the event a show piece of unique aptitude. He also made a mention of a government school student, Pari Mugdha Nischal of GGHSS Mubarak Mandi, who won the first prize at National level in sculpture making and Khushi from High School Kawa Udhampur who brought laurels for J&K at national level Kala Utsav competition by winning first prize in singing competition.
The Directorate will take all measures to ensure that students get every possible facility to develop, nurture and showcase their talent, he added.
The event was coordinated by the Cultural and Academic cell of Directorate of School Education Jammu.
