Defence forces maintaining high alert at LoC: IG BSF

Srinagar: Asserting that all the winter arrangements have been ensured ahead of the heavy snowfall in border areas, Inspector-General of Border Security Force (BSF) Raja Babu Singh Tuesday said that the defence forces are maintaining high alert along the Line of Control (LoC) and “no one can dare to cause any harm to us.”
The IG BSF made these remarks during his visit to the border town Karnah sector (Tangdhar) on Tuesday where he participated in an event with the participation of the local border population.
The event was held in the Karnah sector close to the LoC during which the school children showcased different cultural programs. During the event the IG also interacted with the local population.
Later talking to the reporters on the side-lines of the event the IG of BSF said that the Border Security Forces (BSF) has a proud history of more than 50 years and in light of the same 57th rising days is scheduled to be celebrated tomorrow (December 01) and this event here is Tangdhar was organized in the same regard.
He said that a public connect program was held here in Tangdhar with the border population during which several cultural events were presented by the local school children.
“This program is aimed at strengthening the bond between the civilian population and Border Security Forces (BSF). People are very patriots and have love towards this country”, the IG said. “”BSF has always maintained high alertness for the protection of both the Line Of Controls (LoC’s) at the borders be it that of India and Pakistan border or India and Bangladesh border.”
He said: “Be it in the fight against the militancy in Punjab and Kashmir and Naxal prone areas BSF has always been at the top and with a history full of pride and it’s a matter of taking pride that our (BSF’s) work has earned huge rewards and appreciation.”
About the preparedness of the Border Security Forces (BSF) ahead of the snowfall in the border areas close to the Line of Control (LoC), the IG BSF said that all the required steps have been initiated which include advance winter stocking and clothing for the BSF personnel.
He also said that everything prescribed by the government for the BSF personnel has been ensured.
He maintained that the defence forces are very alert to foil any challenging situation and no one has the power to cause harm to us
