Jammu : Director General Police Dilbag Singh on Saturday said youth is future and hope for the country and called upon them to act as responsible and careful citizens. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Jammu Bike Fest organised by Big FM and associate partners at Bahu Plaza.

Complementing the organizers for organizing the bike fest in Jammu the DGP said that speed thrills youth but they should be careful as life is very precious. He advised youth to take care of themselves and specially their parents and use helmets while driving bikes. He said that speed is enjoyable till it is under control.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the program the DGP said that drug menace is creating havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Pakistan in its continuous attempts of disturbing peace and harmony here is using drugs as a source to lure the youth in anti national activities and ruin their lives. He said despite huge consignments being seized drugs remain a threat and challenge. He appealed to the people especially parents to come forward and support Police in combating the drug menace. He advised the youth to utilize their energy in the positive direction.

On militancy the DGP said that Police and security forces are working hard to finish the terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir so that people live a peaceful life. Regarding COVID he said that the threat is not over yet and people should remain careful and act with responsibility, following all the COVID protocols and not disobey government directives on social gathering and social distancing.
