2 drug peddlers arrested, contraband substance recovered in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar : Police in a series of actions on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and also recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Saturday said that officers from Police Station Pulwama during patrolling at Babagund intercepted a Maruti car bearing Chasis No. 1964411 driven by Parvaiz Ahmad Sheikh @Mochi son of Gh Qadir Sheikh resident of Kangan Pulwama. Stating that during searches officers recovered 15 bottles of Codeine, 16 Kg of Bang Patri and 100 gms of Charas from his possession, police said that it has arrested the above named accused and shifted to police station where he remains in custody and the vehicle also used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Police in the above referred statement also said that in yet another action a Police Party from PS Pulwama while acting swiftly on a specific information about hoarding large quantity of contraband substances, conducted a raid at specific location in village Arigam Pulwama and recovered 15kg of Bang Patri from the residential house of one Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Gani Dar resident of Arigam Pulwama.
Stating that the above named accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement also said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion.
