DDC Rajouri listens to public grievances at Panchayat Argi

Prompt, hassle free services assured to common masses

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan Friday visited Panchayat Argi of block Dhangri and listened to public grievances.
Among the others, BDC Chairperson Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Antar Singh; officials of different departments; PRIs and public in large numbers were present on the occasion.
The locals projected numerous issues and demands and sought sanctioning of a PHC, up-gradation of PS Argi to HSS level, construction of road from Argi Jama Masjid to Sewa Chapra, sanctioning of a Degree college for block Dhangri, construction of road from Dhangri to Paja, sanctioning of Veterinary centre at Sagot, construction of a playfield at Gunni etc.
Other issues included setting up of a ration depot at Gunni, repair of road from Argi bridge to Nasimpura, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under Awas Plus, sanctioning of additional handpumps, besides other related issues.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the public demands and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances at an earliest.
He also extended his best wishes to the public on the National Constitution Day and appealed to people to ensure that there is not only social justice but economic equality as well.
Highlighting the measures being taken for the revival of Cooperative Societies, the DC said that a multi-pronged plan was being formulated to revive cooperative societies in the district. He further said that instructions for the constitution of new cooperative societies have also been passed to raise the economy of the district and meet public demand.
Laying special emphasis on proactive measures to resolve people’s grievances through accountable and responsive governance, the DDC asked the officers to serve people with dedication, and address their concerns within a reasonable time-frame.
He also highlighted that the developmental plans are being drafted with due consultation of the Public representatives and they are being made an essential part of the development structure.
The DDC also motivated the people to avail the benefits of flagship health insurance scheme the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) “SEHAT” scheme launched by the Government of India. He informed that it provides health cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India. He appealed to the general public to register for the same.
The DDC said that the aim of the public outreach drive is to bring the administration to the doorstep of rural areas. He asked the officers to take first hand appraisal of all the grievances of the public and redress the same on priority.
He assured the general public that more such public outreach camps would also be organized to solve the genuine problems of the people at their doorsteps.
