Srinagar : Police in Sopore on Friday said that it has arrested two timber smugglers and seized illicit timber at Fidarpora Rafiabad.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said that acting on specific inputs about timber smuggling at village Fidarpora Rafiabad, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha alongwith officials of Forest Department under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Abdul Razak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam son of Muhammad Rajab Hajam both residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad.
Stating that the above named accused were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement also said that a case vide FIR No. 189/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation are under way.
