Srinagar: Police in Pulwama on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of contraband substances.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “ Police Station Pulwama received a specific information wherein it was stated that a person namely Farooq Ahmad Mir son of Ab Ahad Mir resident of Arihal Pulwama has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house”, adding that “a Police Party from PS Pulwama raided at aspecific location and recovered 18Kgs of Bhang Patri from the said spot. Police in the above referred statement also said that a case vide FIR No. 321/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion.
Stating that in yet another similar incident officers from PS Pulwama on the inputs received by it carried out checking initiative at Prichoo Fruit Mandi Pulwama, police in the above statement also said that during searches 3Kgs of Fukki was recovered from a vehicle bearing registration No. PB03AC-6284 and the accused driver identified as Narinder Kumar son of Mohan Lal resident of Haryana was arrested on the spot.
Stating that the accused driver has been shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody, police in it’s statement said “ the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized and a case vide FIR No. 320/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion”.
