No of covid positive cases fluctuating between 150-200 for last more than last fortnight is an indication that the intensity of the pandemic spread does not reduce but shows rising tendency with every passing day more in Kashmir valley and comparatively less in Jammu division. While the intensity of the pandemic spread is high in some districts , it is low in other districts . To reduce the no of daily cases well below One hundred (three digit mark) on daily basis a strategy focused on fast pacing the vaccination drives and implementing strictly covid protocols alone can bring down unprecedented surge in pandemic spread across Jammu and Kashmir. More onus lies on the people than the government as neither the vaccination process nor the implementation of covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) is possible without the active cooperation of the people. Whether intensity of the pandemic spread is high in one district and low in another district the people have to understand that vaccination is license for health safety against covid-19 pandemic and cooperation in implementation of health protocols is the key to reduce the intensity of pandemic spread. While onus of taking vaccines at the door steps of the people lies on the doctors and paramedics deployed on covid duty at government hospitals, the intensity of the covid spread can’t be reduced without the active cooperation of the people across Jammu & Kashmir. What matters the most is a strong vigil over the movement of the people from the containment areas to other places and immediate shifting of the covid positive patients to isolated places in such containment areas in both Kashmir valley and Jammu division.
While health warriors are putting in their best to save the lives of the people against the virus, the people also themselves have to take care of the containment measures for the safety of their own lives against the deadly virus that has not collapsed the heath of the people across the world but has even shattered even the mightiest economies of the world. Never forget that people thronging markets and other public places without using masks and avoiding overcrowding are not only risking their own lives but also risking lives of others.
When people don’t bother about response to covid containment measures, the government is at liberty to enforce containment measures keeping in view the fact that covid containment is not only about the willingness of the people to cooperate but it is more about the measures required to protect the lives of people against the deadly virus which is unfortunately showing signs of revival for the third time in last two years. While health warriors are putting in their best to save the lives of the people against the virus, the people also themselves have to take care of the containment measures for the safety of their own lives against the deadly virus that has not collapsed the heath of the people across the world but has even shattered even the mightiest economies of the world.
