Bootlegger arrested in Baramulla, illicit liquor recovered : Police

Baramlla : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a bootlegger in Baramulla and also recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at NHW Khawajabagh intercepted a suspicious person who tried to escape from the spot however but the alert Police party tactfully apprehended him and identified him as Harjeet Singh son of Suraj Singh resident of Singhbagh Baramulla.
Stating that on checking, 20 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the above named accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station and investigation was initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
