Power supply affected in areas under 4 grid stations of Srinagar and one each of B’gam, Baramulla to be restored fully by 3.00 P.M : Chief Engineer KPDCL

Srinagar/Nov,21 : Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Development Corporation Ltd (KPDCL) Er Aijaz Ahmad has said that the power supply affected from Saturday evening in areas fed from four power grid stations of Srinagar and one each of Budgam and Baramulla district would be restored fully upto 3.00 P.M today.

According to an official notification issued from the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Development Corporation Ltd (KPDCL) the power supply remain affected in Rawalpora,Wanganpora, Bemina and Zainakote Power Grid Stations of Srinagar city and power grid stations of Magam and Pattan of Budgam and Baramulla district. The areas covered under Rawalpora Grid Stations are Rawalpora, Sanantnagar,Barzulla, Humhama, Parraypora and adjoiniing areas of uptown Srinagar and under Wanganpora Grid Stations are Soura, Hawal,Zadibal, Nawakadal, Safakadal and adjoining areas of old Srinagar city. Similarly the areas covered under Grid Station Bemina are Karan Nagar , Qamarwari, Bemina, Batmaloo, Barthana, Parimpora and adjoining areas in uptown Srinagar and similarly areas under Grid Station Zainakote are HMT, Omerabad, Zainakote, Narabal, Sharif abad and adjoining areas in uptown Srinagar. Under Budgam district’s Magam Grid Station the areas covered are Magam, Beerwah and adjoining areas and under Baramulla district’s Pattan Grid Station the areas covered are Pattan and adjoining areas.

When contacted Chief Engineer KPDCL Er Aijaz Ahmad told Kashmir Horizon ‘ due to technical snag at transmission level in one of  150 MVA transformer bank of 450MVA Zaikote Grid Station the power supply to areas under four power grid stations of Srinagar and one each of Budgam and Baramulla district remains affected from Saturday evening would be restored by 3.00 P.M today’, stating therein further that ‘men and machinery of KPTCL Kashmir is putting in all efforts for speedy restoration and rectification works’.
