JKAACL organises prize distribution Ceremony for winners of ‘On the Spot Painting Competition’

Poonch: Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Rajouri/ Poonch Saturday organised prize distribution ceremony for the winners of ‘On the spot painting competition which was held at Boys Hr Secondary School Poonch on Nov 14. A large number of students drawn from Government and Private Institutions participated in the event.
The event was hosted under the leadership of Secretary JKAACL, Rahul Panday, while Additional Secretary JKAACL Sanjeev Rana monitored the event.
The District Development Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet gave away the prizes to the winner budding Artists in Sub Junior, Junior and Senior Categories.
In Sub Junior Category, Arshdeep Kour bagged first prize of Rs.700, Zoha Khan bagged 2nd cash prize of Rs.500, while Faiqa Batool, Arihant Kumar Sharma and Shreya Kanchru wonn consolation prizes for Rs.300 each.
In Junior Category Diya Zehra bagged Ist prize of Rs.900, Misba Fatima got Second prize of Rs 700. Sahiba Zahoor, Japsimram kour and Swastik won consolation prizes of Rs. 500 each.
In Senior Category, Prarish Versha Deyal bagged Ist cash prize of Rs.1000, Diksha Kanchru got Second prize for Rs 700, while Zoya Khan, Anushka Sharma and Hritesh Raina won consolation prizes of Rs.500 each.
The Chief Guest, District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet appreciated the Cultural Academy Rajouri-Poonch for providing students a platform to showcase their talent. He said holding of such events give a refreshing feel to the students who were confined to their homes due to Covid Pandemic restrictions. However, he reminded the gathering that the CoViD has not vanished completely so ‘it is our moral duty to aware the society especially youth and students about Covid appropriate behaviour.
Dr Alamdar Adam, Special officer for cultural Activities, in his welcome address threw light on the importance of these activities. He thanked district Development Commissioner Poonch for sharing his precious time with the budding artists. He also thanked Chief Education officer Abdul Majid for his support in conducting the event.
