DC Ang tours Chittergul, participates in Jan Jatiya Gaurav Saptah celebrations

Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla Saturday carried out an extensive tour of far flung areas in Tehsil Shangus as part of the public outreach programme.

Taking review of the delivery of medical services, DC Singla visited CHC Shangus and PHC Chittergul. He interacted with the patients and also reviewed the supply of medicine.

CMO Anantnag was directed to immediately procure necessary equipment for carrying out surgeries at CHC Shangus. He also passed directions for conduct of OPD Audits at all major health facilities in the district.

The DC also visited GDC Shangus and took stock of progress on the under construction administration and canteen blocks. He was informed that the administrative block is being constructed at a cost of Rs 3 cr and will be completed within 6 months.

He laid emphasis on timely completion of works and reiterated that any unnecessary delays will result in penal action against officials and black listing of concerned contractors.

People celebrating Jan Jatiya Gaurav Saptah at Chittergul put forward their demands in front of DDC Chairman MY Gorsi and DC Anantnag. The demands include separate Chatpal Achabal development authority, development of tourist infrastructure at chatpal, improvement of Shangus-Chattapal road, removal of encroachment at various places, improvement of LT HT networks, expedite processing of FRC claims, degree college at Chittergul, playground at Chittergul, establishment of FPS shops among others.

Dr Singla after giving a patient hearing to demands assured of time bound redressal. He also appealed to people for availing golden cards.

He also laid emphasis on the Har Ghar Dastak program as part of which health care workers through door to door campaign are educating the masses about COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

The DC also visited Shiva Bhagwati temple and the shrine of Hazrat Kausar Shah (RA) in Akhingam. It was given out that the development of Akhingam as a tourist village is under consideration and a DPR is being framed for the same.

The DC during the visit was accompanied by CPO and DIO Anantnag besides other concerned officers and officials.
