Drug peddler arrested in Budgam, Contraband substance recovered :Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said that a police party of Police Station Budgam during routine patrolling at Narkara Budgam intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing patrolling party tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him and also identified him as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman Bhat resident of Narkara Budgam.
Stating that 4 grams of Herion, banned drug Alprozolam 495 tablets and 01 litre codeine phosphate based syrup were recovered from the possession of the above named accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody, Police in it’s statement also said0 that a case vide FIR No. 346/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
