Dist Admin Kup organizes Block Diwas prog at Machill, Sholoora-Kralpora, Magam-Handwara, Diver, Tarboni

Kupwara: To ensure good governance and to address public issues at the door steps of people, the District Administration Kupwara Wednesday organized 05 Block Diwas cum grievance redressal camps at Machill, Sholoora-Kralpora, Magam-Handwara, Diver and Tarboni-Teetwal.
The main function was held at Tehsil Headquarter Machill, chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the present J&K Government is committed to saturation of all Government schemes in border areas like Machill to ensure balanced growth and development of all areas. He said the Government is keen on providing corruption free and transparent service so that the people do not face any inconvenience.
He said that the aim of conducting weekly Block Diwas is to bridge the gap between people and Administration to ensure smooth and timely public service delivery.
He stressed for close coordination of PRIs with the administration for proper planning and saturation of development schemes in their respective areas.
Regarding Covid, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to follow Covid appropriate behavior and ensure usage of masks, sanitizers and maintenance of social distance.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of implementation of various schemes of different departments in Machill area. The departments reviewed include Health, PDD, Education, PHE, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, F&SS, Social Welfare, RDD etc.
He directed the officers to perform their duties with utmost honesty and dedication to facilitate the people in getting amenities from the Government. He also directed the officers to ensure proper awareness of different Government schemes among the people in the area so that they can be benefitted.
The Deputy Commissioner also provided awareness to the people about the Land Records Information System, ‘Aapki Zameen, Aapki Nigrani’ which provides easy access to the land owners to get their land record.
Regarding proxy candidates, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the PRIs to refrain from making proxy candidates on behalf of lady PRIs which is against the Panchayati Raj Act. He warned them about legal action if a violation is found.
The DDC member, BDC Chairperson, local PRIs put forward various developmental issues of the area relating to power supply, maintenance of roads, release of MGNREGA payment etc.
Meanwhile, different departments had installed their stalls and were providing awareness of schemes to the people.
The concerned officers provided detailed awareness of schemes of their respective departments and addressed various grievances on the spot raised by the PRIs.
DDC member, Kalaroose, Ghulam Mustafa; BDC Chairperson Machill; ACP Kupwara, AD Planning, CHO, DSHO, DAO, DPO, BDO, Tehsildar and officers of the administration, besides, large number of people participated in the Block Diwas.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls of different departments. He also distributed baby kits and other benefits among the beneficiaries.
At Sholoora Kralpora, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat chaired the Block Diwas programme.
At Magam Handwara, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad Mir chaired the Block Diwas programme. BDC chairperson, PRIs, officers and people in large numbers attended the Block Diwas programme.
At Diver, the Block Divas was chaired by SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.
The Block Diwas programme was also held at border and far-flung area Tarbooni in Karnah sub division where Tehsildar Karnah presided over the programme.
In all the five block diwas programmes, the public representatives and general public projected their demands pertaining to different departments including Power, Health, R&B, Forest, Agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors and different engineering departments, besides, Social Welfare.
The concerned officers heard them patiently and assured that their genuine demands will be fulfilled on priority basis.
