DC Ang chairs meeting for massive awareness on public welfare measures

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla Wednesday chaired a meeting of all district/ sectoral officers to chalk out a detailed mobilization plan for carrying out massive awareness activities regarding various public welfare measures.
The DC emphasized that at least 50 percent of the population must be reached out in the coming month.
At the outset, the DC emphasized on creating mass awareness regarding ‘Aap Ki Zameen, Aap Ki Nigraani’, terming it a landmark measure by the government to ensure easy access to land records. He directed all tehsildars to prepare targets for coverage of the entire population in their tehsils.
He informed the gathering that under Yogyata se Rozgar Mahotsav, felicitation of persons recently appointed by the government will take place. The aim of the event is to celebrate merit and demonstrate the commitment of the government that merit shall be the sole basis of appointments to jobs.
Regarding, Janta ki Scheme Janta ki Bhagidari, Dr Singla said that this is an initiative of the government to ensure public participation in the process of policy formulation and implementation. He said that the officials must ensure that the schemes being implemented on the ground are brought in the purview of the public.
Passing directions to the Health Department, the DC said that they must expedite the process of issuing golden cards to ensure that every person in the district has a golden card. He further said that they must also create awareness regarding Covid Appropriate Behaviour and usage of masks.
He said the government under the slogan Har Ghar Dastak has laid stress on vaccinating every single person who has not been vaccinated till now. The department will conduct a door to door survey in this regard to ensure that not even a single person is left vulnerable to COVID complications.
Laying stress on Har Ghar Nal Se Jal, Dr Singla directed officials of Jal Shakti department to expedite ongoing works so that the target of supplying tap water to all households is achieved by August 2022. He directed SE Jal Shakti to ramp up awareness activities related to JJM.
He also directed officials from RDD to conduct IEC campaigns at Panchayat level through already established Pani Samiti Committees.
Berozgar se Swa Rojgar is an initiative of the government to identify 5 unemployed youth in every panchayat and facilitate credit flow to them for self employment. The aim is to facilitate and highlight entrepreneurial activities among the youth and allow them to carve out their own livelihood through entrepreneurship rather than relying on government jobs, he added.
Dr Singla directed officials to work in coordination with banks to facilitate flow of credit to promote entrepreneurial spirit among the youth. He also emphasized the role of the Block Level Bankers Committee in identifying obstacles in free flow of credit and conducting awareness about various self employment programs of the government.
He also said that a block level task force will be created that will have members of RDD, Horticulture, Agriculture and Fisheries to examine proposals of self employment and ensure that cases that have good potential are facilitated. The block level task force will promote inter departmental coordination and ensure credit flow to the most viable cases.
The DC also directed the officials to revisit and identify gaps in village swachta plans that have been formulated. The government under Har Gaon Swachh Gaon initiative aims to create awareness among the masses for ensuring cleanliness in their surroundings. Also, solid waste management plans and plastic waste management plans are being formulated at village level.
Officials from the forest department were directed to undertake IEC activities to promote afforestation. Under the ambit of Har Gaon Hariyali, the government aims to ensure plantation of trees and creation of green spaces in every village.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, SDMs, ACR, ACD, Tehsildars and BDOs among other senior officials.
