Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested six notorious drug peddlers in Pulwama, Sopore & Budgam and also recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday police said that in Pulwama, it has arrested two drug peddlers in two separate actions in Rajpora and Tahab areas and identified them as Ishrat Mansoor Ganaie @Sameer son of Mansoor Ahmad Ganaie resident of Meemander Ganaie Mohalla Shopian and Mohd Ayoub Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
Stating that during checking, officers recovered huge quantity of Psychotropic drugs from the possession of the above named accused who were shifted to respective Police Stations where they remain in custody, police in it it’s statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigations have been initiated.
“In a similar incident in Sopore, Police party of Police Station Sopore during patrolling apprehended two notorious drug peddlers identified as Aqib Nisar Gojree @Aqib Goure son of Nisar Ahmad Gojree resident of Batpora A/P Model Town and Irfan Ahmd Gazi @Raju Gazi son of Abdul Khaliq Gazi resident of Yaseen colony Arampora Sopore”, reads the police statement, adding that “ on checking, officers recovered 60 bottles of Codeine, 288 capsules and Brown Sugar from the possession of the above named accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody”. Police in it’s statement further said that a case FIR No. 276/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation is in progress.
Police in statement also said that moreover in Budgam, Police party of Police Station Magam intercepted two persons during naka checking at Batpora Kaniham and identified them as Abdul Majeed Pandith son of Ghulam Nabi Pandith resident of Batapora Kanihama and Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Roshanabad Mazhama. In the concluding para of it’s above referred statement police said “during searches 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 190 tablets of Clonazepam were recovered from the possession of the above named accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody”, adding that “ Case FIR No. 251/2021 under relevant sections law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation set into motion”.
