Pr Secy H&UDD visits Budgam, reviews progress on dev works

Budgam: Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta, who is also In-charge Administrative Secretary for Budgam, Tuesday reaffirmed government’s commitment towards ensuring maximum involvement of District Development and Block Development Councils besides other PRIs in development process.
Principal Secretary stated this during his day long extensive visit to Budgam where he chaired a meeting with all district officers to review progress on development works being executed in the district under different schemes.
Gupta had a detailed review of progress achieved under District Capex besides taking stock of other centrally and state sponsored schemes.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Shabaz Ahmed Mirza, presented a detailed account of progress achieved by all departments and executing agencies. He informed that about 58.38% expenditure has been recorded under District Capex by the end of October 2021.
It was informed that about 1655 works were taken up under MGNREGA during 2021-22 involving an expenditure of Rs. 3955.92 lakh, of which 813 works stand completed till date.
DC also presented physical progress achieved under key sectors like R&B, PDD, Jal Shakti, RDD, PMGSY, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Urbal Local Bodies, Irrigation and Flood Control, NRLM and NULM.
Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers to redouble their efforts in ensuring that all CSSs are implemented in letter and spirit.
Gupta further instructed the officers for involving all PRIs including DDC, BDC, Sarpanchs and Panchs in identification of all priority works to be taken up in hand during next financial year 2022-23.
DDC Chairman, Nazir Ahmad Khan, appreciated the Principal Secretary for showing keen interest towards fulfillment of demands of the district on priority basis. He highlighted the hardships and difficulties being confronted to nomad families at Tosamaidan. He demanded their rehabilitation and monetary relief under envisaged rules.
The meeting was also attended by VC DDC, Nazir Ahmad Jahara, Presidents of all MCs, Director ULB, ADDC, CEO YDA and DDA, GM DIC, PO ICDS, SE R&B, CPO, Executive Engineers PHE, R&B, I&FC, PDD and PMGSY besides other concerned officers and officials.
