Jammu: Directorate of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with Jammu Municipal Corporation Monday organised a one day workshop on the “Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 amended 2021, here at Conference Hall, Udyog Bhawan, Railhead Complex.
The workshop was organised to sensitize Industrialists engaged in manufacture and production of Plastic products regarding provisions of plastic Waste management rules 2016 (amended in 2021).
The motive of the workshop was to hold discussion on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) which is defined as an environmental protection strategy by which Producers are to be made responsible for environmentally sound management of the products until the end of its life.
Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to the stakeholder to switch over to healthy alternatives of plastic and strictly adhere to various provisions of Plastic waste management rules 2016 with its amended provisions in 2021.
Joint Director, Industries & Commerce, Amit Vermani; Secretary Jammu Municipal Corporation, Atul Gupta; General Managers of DICs and numerous Industrialists participated in the workshop.
