Kishtwar: Principal Secretary, Civil Aviation Department and Industries and Commerce, Ranjan P Thakur, Saturday visited Kishtwar and chaired a meeting regarding heli-services and development of Airstrip in the district.
Thakur said that existing helicopter strip in Kishtwar will soon be extended further to make it viable for aircraft landing. “It will provide vital connectivity to Kishtwar even during the severe winter conditions especially for medical and related emergencies” he maintained.He said the Government is keen to make the airstrip functional at the earliest for convenience of the people besides increasing tourist footfall in the area.Later, Principal Secretary had an ariel survey of Marwah Airstrip.
Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi besides officers from Army accompanied the Principal Secretary during the visit.
