Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla Saturday undertook a field visit to inspect ongoing works of the Rural Development Department and PWD department in the district.
Inspecting ongoing works of RDD, the DC passed directions to the field functionaries and PRIs to leverage maximum labour for execution of development works so that meaningful employment is created. He also laid stress on proper planning prior to execution so that genuine grievances are effectively addressed.
Holding interaction with the locals of Khandiparie, DC issued on spot directions to the Tehsildar Anantnag for removal of roadside encroachments.
Dr. Singla also visited the Tourist Facilitation Centre at Harnag and reviewed the ongoing work on the complex. He was informed that the building will be completed in the coming months.
He also visited Qazigund to review construction of pre fabricated structures and toilet complexes. The DC issued directions to the executing agency to expedite construction work and ensure the facility is available for use before the yatra.

Earlier, the DC visited GDC Khanabal where an inclusive painting competition for specially abled children was organized by Humanity Welfare organization Helpline in collaboration with the college.
The DC while interacting with the children laid emphasis on encouraging participation of children in extracurricular activities to expand their horizons of imagination. He said that due to the COVID pandemic, children have been confined indoors. Events like these facilitate interaction with nature and stimulate creative acumen.
Dr. Singla also visited the auditorium at GDC Khanabal which was damaged during heavy snowfall the previous year. Taking cognizance of inconvenience faced by college students, he issued directions to Ex. Engineer R&B Anantnag to immediately take up rubble clearance and initiate the renovation process.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by CPO Anantnag, Ex. Engineer R&B Qazigund, BDO, PRI members and other officials of district administration.
