Jammu: At least two persons died while 12 others were injured two of them critical when a passenger vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Digdole in Ramban district on Saturday.
Officials said that a Tata Sumo bearing number JK03-A6391 plunged in roadside gorge in Digdole in which two passengers died on the spot and 12 others sustained injuries.
“Two passengers died on the spot and their identity is being ascertained,” the official said. An official said that at 1pm, a sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK03 A 6391 while coming from Jammu to Banihal lost control and fell into a deep gorge at Samadhi Morh, Digdole, Ramban. “The injured passengers have been identified as Jameela daughter of Fayaz resident of Neel aged seven years, Nasir Khan s/o Arshad Khan r/o UP Hewa, age 19yrs, Aikra age two-and-half years, Akya age 08 years, Ara Bano d/o Fayaz r/o Neel age 04yrs, Soib Khan s/o Akhter age 18-yrs, Sohil Khan s/o Irfan Khan r/o UP, Manzoor Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Neel age 28yrs (driver), Khaleda begum w/o Fayaz Ahmed r/o Neel age 35yrs, Arif s/o Akhter r/o UP age 22yrs, Ashu r/o UP age 35yrs, Usman s/o Akbar r/o UP age 19yrs.
“Among the injured, Khalida and Ashu have been referred to GMC Jammu,” the official said
