Hirdesh visits Doda, reviews distt’s dev scenario

Doda: Chief Electoral Officer and Commissioner Secretary Transport, Hirdesh Kumar, who is also the incharge Secretary for development of the district, Friday visited Doda and reviewed implementation of various development schemes in the district.
Commissioner Secretary set November 30 as deadline for completion of tendering process of all the approved works by the concerned executing agencies. He asked the executing agencies to project their issues in detail so that he can take up the same with the higher authorities of different departments. He also asked them to expedite the completion of projects sanctioned under languishing projects.
While reviewing MGNREGA and 14th FC, Commissioner Secretary directed the nodal department to improve the timely payment indicator, which is at present 76 % only in the district, at par with J&K level percentage. He asked the DPO to monitor the quality of works being executed under 14FC in the district.
Regarding PMAY Gramin and Urban, Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned to saturate the entire target before March 2022 besides asking the Irrigation and PHE department to submit list of ongoing works sanctioned under different schemes and the status of works sanctioned under JJM in the shape of flow chart so that they shall be monitored regularly for speedy completion.
While reviewing functioning of Transport department, Commissioner Secretary directed the ARTO to ensure that the online services are being properly rendered to ensure transparency. He asked them to get the DPR formulated for construction of Advance Driving test and Fitness Checking Centre at the earliest for approval by the concerned authorities.
Expressing concern over frequent fatal road accidents in the district, Commissioner Secretary directed the district level transport committee to submit a comprehensive report regarding road safety measures needed to be initiated so that funds shall be allocated on priority basis.
Commissioner, while addressing the officers, asked them to work with collective responsibility so that the district shall top in the district index rankings. He asked them to remain available for the general public in their respective jurisdictions.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Vikas Sharma, presented a detailed power point presentation highlighting achievements recorded under several schemes besides raising development needs of the district. He elaborately explained social sector and self employment schemes besides highlighting implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes like PMGSY, PMEGP, MGNREGA, 14th FC, JJM, CRF, NABARD and Languishing projects. He also presented physical progress on various mega development projects of the district.
The meeting was attended by Principal GMC Doda, Dr Noor Ali, ADC, Dr R K Bharti, ADC Bhaderwah, Rakesh Kumar, PO ICDS Shahida Parveen, GM DIC Khalid Malik, SDMs, SEs PWD, PMGSY and PDD, GM NHIDCL besides other senior officers of various departments.
