Valedictory function of “Martyr Raja Saleem Anwar Cricket Tournament” held at SK Stadium B’pora

Srinagar: The valedictory function of Martyr Raja Saleem Anwar Cricket Tournament organized by Police in Bandipora was held at S.K Stadium Bandipora. On this occasion, DIG NKR Baramulla Udaybhaskar Billa was the Chief Guest, DC Bandipora Owais Ahmad, SSP Bandipora Mohammad Zahid, CO 14 RR, CO 3rdBn CRPF and other senior officers of Police, Army and Civil were also present.

The final match was played between Hashmee Cricket Club Bandipora and Rising Star Cricket Club Bandipora. Batting first Hashmee Club scored 109 runs in 15 overs and chasing the target Rising Star Club won the match by 05 wickets. The Man of the Series and Man of the Match trophy were awarded to Mudasir Ahmad Dar of Rising Star Cricket Club. The tournament was formally inaugurated on 21/10/2021 and played on knockout basis in which 16 teams participated.

On the occasion, DIG NKR Baramulla said that Police is providing many opportunities to the youths to showcase their talents, be it organizing sports events or other talent hunt initiatives. While congratulating the winning team he emphasized upon them to carry on this performance and bring more laurels for their team as well as for the district.

SSP Bandipora also addressed the participants and said that Police has organized a number of events for youths of the district, so that they can showcase their talent and this cricket tournament apart from being a tribute to our Martyrs also helped the youth of the district in getting a platform so that they can compete at other national level platforms in future. He also congratulated the winning team for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Later on, prize distribution ceremony was also held and cash prizes of ₹15,000 and ₹10,000 were awarded to the winner team as well as runner up team respectively along with trophies and certificates.
