Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered a kidnapped minor girl and also arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that Police Station Khansahib on October 30 this years received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter was kidnapped by one person namely Mohammad Iqbal Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah resident of Dreygam Khansahib.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 237/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation was initiated, police in it’s statement further said “during the course of investigation, a team headed by SHO Police Station Khansahib was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl and while acting on specific leads the team by utilizing all available means recovered the kidnapped girl from Rajouri and also arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
Police in it’s statement also said that the said accused has been shifted to PS Khansahib where he remains in custody and fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was been handed over to her legal heirs, adding therein that further investigation into the matter is in progress.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and asked them share information pertaining to social crimes with police with the assurance that drive against the social crimes shall continue.
