Jammu/Nov, 9: Hours after taking a review on the security situation here at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday left for New Delhi.
Official sources said that LG Sinha chaired the security review meeting in the afternoon and at around 2 pm, he left for Delhi and is likely to brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.Earlier at the review meeting, sources said that the top brass of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, Paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, briefed the Lieutenant Governor on various aspects related to the security particularly on targeted killings in the Kashmir valley. It is learnt that the Central Reserve Police Force is also sending additional companies to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of recent civilian killings. “LG Sinha took a detailed review on the security situation especially about the targeted killings in the Valley,” sources in the administration said.
A civilian was shot dead on Monday a day after Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel were killed by the militants. They added that besides, he also had a threadbare discussion on border situation, infiltration, border management, hinterland security, law and order, mis-campaign via social media and security arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations across Jammu and Kashmir . The top brass including Jammu and Kashmir Director General, Dilbag Singh, ADG Jammu Zone, Special DG CRPF, IG BSF, DGs of different security agencies and top Army commanders attended the meeting and briefed the Lieutenant Governor on security situation.
