Bandipora: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed Tuesday inaugurated a two days awareness camp for Ice stock sport at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, here.
During the two day event, more than 60 boys and girls will be trained and short listed Athletes will get a chance to represent J&K team in forthcoming national Ice stock championship supposed to be held at Gulmarg ice ring from 15 to 17 January, 2022.
Dr Owais while encouraging the kids and organising body of Bandipora Icestock said that it is an honor that new sports activity is being introduced in Bandipora. He assured full support and contribution from district administration to the organising body for the promotion and the development of the sports in the district.
He also urged the youth of Bandipora to take keen interest in the Olympic event and bring laurels to the district as well as to J&K. The event was organised by J&K Ice stock sport association in association with Ali Sports Academy.
Among others, DYS&SO Bandipora, Ghulam Qadir Bhat along with his team were present on the occasion.
