Come summer health specialists warn of a pandemic spread and yet again on the commencement of winter season health specialists again warn of a deadly pandemic spread. This happened last years and is being witnessed this year too. Since health specialists predict pandemic spread in both summer and winter seasons, the people in Jammu & Kashmir like people of many states and union territories of the country are within their rights to doubt the views of health specialists about the timing of the pandemic spread as it is quiet impossible for them to expect spread both in summer and winter seasons. When the two high intensity pandemic periods have been witnessed only in summer season during last two years of pandemic it is obviously clear that people would expect more spread in summer season than in winter months. What matters the most is total adherence to covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) both in summer and winter seasons as even minor violations of the covid containment guidelines often trigger a high intensity wave of the spread in one or the other district. Presently intensity of the pandemic is higher in Srinagar than any other district of Jammu & Kashmir as the crowds gather more intensely in Srinagar than winter capital Jammu and other districts of both Kashmir valley and Jammu division. Though Srinagar administration while warning of a localised lockdown has identified eight areas for enforcement of restrictions to block arrival of yet another wave of more intense spread in more such areas which are more vulnerable to covid pandemic spread but finally the implementation of the restrictions alone would reduce the intensity of the pandemic in the high intensity areas. Another factor surprising people is huge pandemic surge in Kashmir valley and drastically reducing intensity in Jammu division. Ultimately the cause of higher intensity of the pandemic spreads should be thoroughly examined for the purposes of containing the spread in short time.
To reduce the increasing intensity of the confusion panicking the people about surge in Kashmir and fall in Jammu region the health specialists are the best to look into the causes of the spread and guide people in taking appropriate safety measures for the purposes of reducing the high intensity of the pandemic spread in Kashmir valley. The onus lies on the health and medical education department tasked the job of covid care treatment immediately immediately after the breakout of the pandemic in March 2020.
Even if the warning of a high intensity pandemic in winters is to be believed, the huge surge in Kashmir and drastically reducing intensity in Jammu confuses people about the future of the pandemic spread in Jammu & Kashmir.
