DC Poonch directs officers to ensure availability of essentials throughout winter

Poonch: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet Friday chaired a meeting of Officers of various Departments to review the stock position of essentials and overall winter preparedness in the district.
The DDC took a review of power and water supply scenarios, availability of ration, fuel, LPG, Fire & Emergency Services, Stocks of medicine, Ambulance, 24×7 Control Room to listen to public problems and other essentials, besides measures taken for snow clearance.
While reviewing the status of power supply scenario in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Xen JPDCL to maintain adequate buffer stock of transformers at all sub Divisions and men and machinery ready for restoration of power supply in case of disruption due to snowfall.
The DC asked the Assistant Director FCS&CA to arrange sufficient stocks of food and LPG in the district to avoid shortage during snow/winter.
The DDC also directed for setting up of a special 24×7 Control Room in the district to redress the winter related complaints of the public on a fast track basis.
The DDC directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure availability of sufficient stock of medicine, ambulance services in DH and all SDH s specially in Snow bound areas besides making proper heating systems in all hospitals in the winter season.
The DDC asked the CEO Tourism to prepare winter tourist destination details and submit them to the DC office.
He directed Executive Engineer R&B Poonch, Xen PMGSY,Poonch/Mendhar, Xen Mughal Road and OC BRO to keep men and machinery ready to maintain all the roads.
The DC asked the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Abid Hussain to make a list of destitute laborers/poor people, homeless living on the streets so that administration can help them by providing blankets or shelters during winter under Red Cross.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner also chaired the District Level Single Window Committee Meeting to discuss the process of issuance of NOCs for E-Auction of Rajpura Limestone Block at Mandi.
A comprehensive discussion on the subject was held during which concerned officers submitted NOCs for the extraction of minor minerals from river beds and other Nallahs.
The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon its members to take all the necessary steps needed for facilitation of mining leases of E-Auction for project proponents.
Among others the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Abdul Sattar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr.Basharat Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue,Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, CEO Tourism, Dr.Mohd.Tanveer, SDM Surankote, Naheem-Un-Nissa, Chief Horticulture Officer, Satvir Singh, Hqr Assistant, Jahangir Hussain, CMO, Dr.G.A Malik, Executive Engineer, JPDLC, Jal Shakti, PWD, PMGSY, Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed, Tehsildar Mandi, Shazad Latief Khan, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Food, AEE, Mechanical Department, I/C Fire & Emergency Services, Poonch besides all concerned officers.
