Police Martyr’s Memorial Sports festival concludes in Kupwara

Srinagar: In order to commemorate the supreme sacrifices of Police Martyrs, a mega sports festival was organised by Police in Kupwara which commenced on 21st October and concluded today. Hundreds of players across the district participated in different games with great passion, energy and enthusiasm.
The main attraction at the closing ceremony was the final match of Martyrs memorial Cricket Tournament played between Friends Eleven Kupwara and Kupwara Cricket Academy. The match was comfortably won by Friends Eleven Kupwara by a huge margin of 50 runs.
At the closing ceremony, SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas-JKPS, DySP Hqrs and DySP DAR Kupwara felicitated players of the winning & runner-up teams with trophies and suitable cash prizes.
SSP Kupwara while interacting with the players said that Police are committed to promote sports and other youth development activities to channelize their energy in positive manner. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and sense of achievement. Later, SSP Kupwara thanked the players, spectators and the people in general for making the event successful.
