Srinagar : National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah , the party Vice President Omar Abdullah, J&K Congress President Gh Ahmad Mir, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, J&K Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, People Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone and PDF Chairman Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen have in their separate statement greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, hoping the festival will be celebrated with traditional harmony, enthusiasm and brotherhood.
In a statement issued on Wednesday the National Conference President wished prosperity and happiness to its people. He highlighted the spirit of celebrating festivals in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood and called for strengthening this tradition. “Such festivals showcase the cultural diversity and plurality of J&K, I hope the day increases the prospects of peace, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir in particular and the world in general. I wish people a very happy Diwali, hoping they will celebrate their happiness with the have-nots,” he said. In a separate message, Party Vice President Omar Abdullah said, “May this Diwali strengthen the bond of brotherhood and communal harmony in J&K. I wish people a very Happy Diwali, hoping that the day augurs well for everlasting peace and prosperity in J&K.” He stressed on the need for strengthening harmony and brotherhood in the glorious traditions of J&K’s pluralistic ethos.
In his message of Diwali greeting issued on Wednesday the J&K Congress President Gh Ahmad Mir said that Diwali “festival of lights” is a unique and auspicious occasion, symbolizes the victory of truthfulness over falsehood, good over bad, it will continue to instill love and affection amongst the people for each other, irrespective of colour or religion. The festival of lights also reflects the diversity and composite culture in India, Mir added and said the auspicious occasion will continue to strengthen the special bond of love and respect in the society. “On this occasion, I send my best wishes and hearty Deewali greetings to people, hoping that the occasion will be a harbinger of inclusive development in J&K,” Mir added. “Let the auspicious occasion of Diwali usher in an era of peace, stability and prosperity of people,” JKPCC President prayed and wished a very happy and prosperous Diwali to people.
In her message of Diwali greetings the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday felicitated people on the occasion of Diwali wishing them peace, happiness and well-being.In her message of greetings Mehbooba hoped that the Festival of Lights would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “While celebrating festivals, we must remember the poor and needy and share joy with them. We have a rich tradition of celebrating festivals in amity and brotherhood, in consonance with our unique multicultural ethos,” she said . “On this auspicious occasion I wish and pray that all good values of love, compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and brotherhood become the hallmark of our society to take forward the State on the path of progress, prosperity and lasting peace”, she added.
In his message of Diwali greetings, the J&K Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that Diwali is called the ‘festival of lights’ that is believed to ward off evil while filling our lives with positivity, hope and peace. “Light symbolizes hope and optimism which we need more than ever at this point of time. The economic stagnation due to Covid-19 has agonized our people tremendously but I hope that this festival will usher in an era of prosperity and development in the region,” he said. He further added that celebrating and wishing each other on these sacred festivals reflects the rich cultural ethos of J&K which will continue to exist for times to come.
In his message of Diwali greeting the Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone wished prosperity to the J&K and happiness to its people. He highlighted the spirit of celebrating festivals in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood and called for strengthening this tradition. “Such festivals showcase the cultural diversity and plurality of J&k, I hope the day brings peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.” he said.
He also stressed on the need for strengthening harmony and brotherhood in the glorious traditions of the J&K’s pluralistic ethos.
In his message of Diwali greeting the Chairman Peoples Democratic Front and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said that Diwali is a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity that reminds us about our duty to share the joy and happiness. “Diwali is a symbol of hope for humankind. The festival also signifies universal compassion, inner joy of peace, love, and the awareness of unity to all,” Hakeem said.He urged people to pray for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.The senior leader further urged people to celebrate an eco-friendly and Covid-free Diwali in a simple, dignified and noble way by adopting the use of ‘local’ handmade products instead of synthetics. “In view of the rising concern of environmental pollution and COVID alert, all must adhere to the guidelines issued by concerned authorities,” he added.
