Kishtwar admin finalises Diwali arrangements

Kishtwar:Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting of line departments and representatives of civil society to finalise arrangements for the Diwali Festival.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma; Additional Superintendent Police, Rajinder Singh; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; Chief Medical Officer Dr R S Manhas; AD Food Safety Department Shabir Ahmed; Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar; EO MC Kishtwar Tariq Balwan; Xen PHE Anil Kaylu, besides other concerned remained present in the meeting.
The arrangements for security, maintenance of law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, Medicare, checking of rates and quality of eatables besides deployment of fire tenders were discussed and finalized in the meeting.
Joint teams of officials of FCS & CA and Food Safety Department were asked to intensify market checking to keep a check on overpricing, profiteering, black-marketing besides ensuring the quality of sweets, Milk and milk-based products and other eatables.
The DC also reviewed the position of the ration in the district and asked the AD Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to meet the deficit, wherever required.
It was also decided in the meeting that the health department will keep one Ambulance at District Hospital for any emergency. Besides, fire and emergency services officers were directed to keep the fire tenders on alert round the clock.
The meeting decided to intensify checking to contain the sale of imported firecrackers in the district. ASP Kishtwar, Tehsildar Kishtwar and EO MC were asked to ensure the sale of the firecrackers only in the designated places of Chowgan ground. The police department was asked to ensure foolproof security and enforcement of the Covid SOPs and guidelines in the public and religious places.
