Police-Public interaction meeting facilitated in Bandipora

Srinagar: As a part of public outreach programme, Police in Bandipora facilitated a police-public interaction meeting at Town Hall Hajin area of Bandipora.
On the occasion, the meeting was chaired by SSP Bandipora Shri Mohammad Zahid-JKPS accompanied by Addl. SP Bandipora, Chairman MC Hajin and SDPO Hajin. The meeting was attended by community members, civil society members and youth of the area.
During the interaction, the participants highlighted several issues of public importance being faced by the general public. The chairing officers assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. They also sought public cooperation in maintaining peace & stability in the area, besides eradicating various social evils especially drug menace and gambling.
SSP Bandipora also stressed on the parents to take extra care of their children so that they do not fall prey to propaganda being propagated by anti-national and anti-social elements. He also said that Police is committed to act tough against anti-social elements especially drug peddlers and community members should help Police in identifying such elements so that strict action under law could be initiated against them.
The main aim of the meeting is to facilitate interaction with community members and redress their grievances so as to create cordial police-public relationship. The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely.
