Rajouri: District Level Forest Right Committee which met Monday here under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, cleared 45 claims under Forest Right Act.
The meeting was attended by BDC Chairperson Qila Darhal, Khalid Firdoz; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACP, Mohd Rashid Kohli; AC Defence, Saleem Quershi; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; DSHO, Dr Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed and other concerned officers.
After a threadbare discussion and scrutiny of all the claims put up in the meeting, the committee cleared 45 cases benefiting over 364 families. Some cases were returned for completion of papers while few others were recommended for further scrutiny.
Pertinently, the DLC Rajouri has so far approved 585 FRA claims including 45 claims settled Monday in its four meetings, benefiting 1415 families and 8490 souls.
While reviewing the progress concerning the identification of the Educational Institutions and Jal Shakti schemes functioning on forest land, the meeting was informed that there are 84 schools and 53 schemes which are on the forest areas. The DC asked the concerned officers to share the list with the forest rights committees so that the cases can be processed at the earliest.
The concerned officers from the RDD, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry were asked to identify their assets in the forest areas and submit the report in this regard within the shortest possible time.
The DC also directed for the mapping of inter and intra village bridal paths on forest land and said that the coordinates of the bridle paths should be from starting and endpoints.
