Scintillating events mark grand culmination of Iconic Week Festival in Jammu disttt

Jammu: Scintillating events showcasing varied colours of rich heritage and culture of the region marked the grand culmination of Iconic Festival Week in Jammu district, here Friday.
On the last day of weeklong celebration, J&K Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu and District Administration Jammu organised a Food Festival & Musical Evening here at Maharaja Hari Singh Park.
Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta was the Chief Guest while Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma was the Guest of Honour.
The major attraction of the program was Ethnic and Famous Street Food of Jammu City and Exhibition-cum-Sale of Local Handicraft products. The unique initiative taken by the Divisional and District Administration Jammu was highly appreciated by the gathering present in the event.
Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta appreciated the initiative taken by the Tourism department to highlight and promote the heritage culture and tourism at local, national as well international level. He said that such types of programs should be organised on regular intervals to make the people aware about the importance of our old age heritage and encourage them to imbibe it in their routine life to preserve this legacy.
The event also witnessed scintillating performances by famous singers viz Yassir Hussain and Sonali Dogra which were received by the audience with repeated applause.
In another attractive event, the Tourism Department and Jammu Administration illuminated all the four bridges of Jammu city which presented a stunning site from different parts of the City.
Meanwhile, a grand musical carnival was organized at Zorawar Singh stadium with popular bollywood playback singer Mohit Chauhan presenting some of his famous songs.
The explosive musical evening witnessed huge participation of audience who appreciated this joint initiative of Tourism department and divisional administration Jammu.
Among others present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor Jammu University, Manoj Dhar, Principal Secretary Information, Rohit Kansal; ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa; Director Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai; ADC, Jammu Satish Sharma; Joint Director Tourism, Natasha Kalsotra, Deputy Director Information (HQ) Jammu, Dr Rehana Bijli besides others.
