Make affordable medicine accessible to poor: Div Com (K)

Srinagar:: Make affordable medicine accessible to all poor and general public for healthy nation said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole Friday while speaking in a programme of National Unity Week being observed by Jan Aushadhi. Jan Aushadi Mitra Sammelan programme was held at Technical Education Institute, M A Road Srinagar to celebrate to celebrate National Unity Week. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on the occasion said that first Home Minister of India played an important a great role in unifying the country. He said India is a democratic and secular country where unity, equality and fraternity is enjoyed by all.
He said under Jan Aushadhi poor people are highly benefitted by availing the medicine at lower prices. He said that Divisional administration will help Jan Aushadhi Kashmir to open five centres at Red Cross besides will extend all the necessary support to open such centres at PHCs and District Hospitals.
He invited everyone including doctors to build confidence among people to take Jan Aushadhi medicine which is equally beneficial and effective for the treatment of diseases. Besides, he asked officers to display contact numbers at health institutions so people would contact them in case the medicine is not available at any health institution.
Nodal Officer, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojna, J&K, Rifat Nazir on the occasion said that Sardar Patel built a Nation where we all live together without any partiality. While speaking about Jan Aushadhi medicine she said that the quality of the medicine is exceptionally good with lower prices which ensure good health.
Famous Cardiologist, Opendra Koul; Dr Saleem Khan; Dr Naveed Nazir and other prominent persons also highlighted the importance of Jan Aushadhi medicine and suggested that outlets of those medical centres should be increased and emphasized on the distribution & quality control of medicine and confidence building among people to use such medicines.
They said it should be made accessible to all besides said that it will ensure universal good health and sustainable development.
The participants said the prices of allopathic medicine is sky rocketing hence poor people suffer due to non affordability which affects their health. They underlined that Jan Aushadhi medicine gives hope to the poor and other people.Later certificates were present to the dignitaries and Jan Aushadhi Mitras.
