DC Pulwama for self-reliant, sustainable Agriculture & Horticulture sector

Pulwama: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary Saturday convened the District Level Review Committee meeting of the district, here.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on CD ratios of the banks, identification of beneficiaries, flow of credit, assistance under Government sponsored schemes, performances of banks under District Credit Plan (DCP), achievements made under the above said Quarter, monitoring initiatives and Credit Plus activities.
It was given that under the Agriculture sector, banks have disbursed an amount of Rs 207 crore and has disbursed a total of 425 crores under priority and non-priority sectors.
Under Medium Small and Micro Enterprises banks have recorded deployment of Rs 80 crores. Whereas in the education sector Rs 1 crore was disbursed.
The DDC impressed upon the bankers to put in added efforts to increase the CD ratio by focusing on potential areas and stressed on better coordination between banks and government departments for bringing improvement in CD ratio.
He directed for ensuring balanced lending in all key sectors to promote equitable growth and also emphasized upon the heads of the financial institutions to spread awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefit for their socio-economic development.
The DDC hailed the role of Agriculture and Horticulture sectors in creating self-reliant and sustainable employment in the district.
He emphasized on the priority sector lending with a special focus on education, women development and agriculture allied sectors and directed concerned officials to organise the financial literacy camps in every block of the district and stressed upon the bankers and concerned officers to adopt public friendly approach and work in coordination so that good results are achieved at the grass roots level.
The DDC directed the Tehsildars to organize special camps for title verification of land so that the KCC loans are sanctioned without impediments.
Banks were also directed to organise awareness programmes in higher secondary schools and colleges so that interesting candidates can avail education loans for further studies.
He also impressed upon the banks and other concerned agencies to provide hassle-free sanction and disbursement of loans under various schemes to people especially unemployed youth.
He asked the sponsoring agencies to support maximum cases for increasing the MSME credit in the district, besides asked the sponsoring agencies to ensure that the beneficiaries who are availing the benefits of the self-employment schemes are actually running the assets.
The meeting was attended by Lead District Manager, Cluster Head JK Bank, NABARD, representatives of various banks, District Coordinators, District Heads of various Government Departments and sponsoring agencies.
