Depositing fee is though a routine practice for the parents in private schools but private schools in Jammu & Kashmir have set a new trend of enforcing their own procedures of collecting fee from the parents of the enrolled students against their whims and wishes. Without the intervention of the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) tasked the job of regulating school fee by J&K Government the private schools don’t hear the aggrieved parents to resolve their grievances on payment of pending fee dues of their wards. Knowing all about the economic stress triggered by back to back two covid lockdown in last two consecutive years the private schools in Jammu and Kashmir should have on their own restrained from imposing controversial fee collection procedures over the gullible parents of their enrolled students time and again . Having reduced their teaching staff strength by 50% after the breakdown of the covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 the private schools should have adhered to the orders of the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) on fee collection on their own but they are imposing controversial fee collection procedures in violation of the FFRC orders time and again only to attract criticism and condemnation from the people of all hues and intervention by the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC). The growing tendency of private schools to extract as much money as they can from the parents of their enrolled students is a very bad precedence and should stop sooner than later in the lager public interests across Jammu & Kashmir. Violation of the fee collection guidelines of Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) only shows the increasing arrogance of the private school managements and won’t obviously stop till the FFRC penalises them for the violation of the fee collection guidelines already ordered by it for strict implementation last year.
When private schools don’t show respect to the orders of a government appointed statutory committee, the punishment to private schools violating the fee procedure guidelines is the only option for the fee fixation and regulation committee (FFRC) to resolve the increasing grievances of the aggrieved people across Jammu & Kashmir.
Since the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) has already asked private schools to adhere to it’s fee collection schedule time and again, the punishment for violation of the fee collection guidelines to the concerned private schools is the only way to resolve the grievances of the aggrieved parents. By violating the directions of a government appointed statutory body the private school managements tend to show disrespect to the institutional and administrative authority of the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC). So when private schools don’t show respect to the orders of a government appointed statutory committee, the punishment to private schools violating the fee procedure guidelines is the only option for the fee fixation and regulation committee (FFRC) to resolve the increasing grievances of the aggrieved people across Jammu & Kashmir.
