Kulgam: In order to ensure smooth functioning of National helpline for senior citizens (Elder Line) in the district, a meeting of Officers under the chairmanship of Additional Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather was Thursday held here at the mini-secretariat.
The meeting was attended by SDM-Noorabad, CMO Kulgam,Tehsildars, DSWO Kulgam, TSWOs and project manager Aerial Telecom.
Project manager aerial telecom, the implementing agency for the project Elder Line apprised the chair about its functioning and roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders to make the project successful.
It was informed that the senior citizens can call the helpline on toll free number 14567 daily from 8am to 8pm in case of need of assistance.
Moreover the issues faced by the elderly citizens and mechanism in place for their prompt redressal was also discussed threadbare in the meeting.
