Drug peddler arrested in G’bal, Psychotropic substance recovered : Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that a police party of Police Station Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Beehama Ganderbal intercepted a person who on seeing the police party tried to escape from the spot but alert police party apprehended him tactfully and identified him as Irshad Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Saloora.
Stating that during checking, officers recovered 96 tablets of banned drugs from the possession of the above named accused who was later arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police in the concluding para of its above referred statement said that, a case vide FIR No. 203/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
