Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has recovered huge quantity of contraband substances in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “ Police Station Kakapora received a specific information where in it was mentioned that two person namely Gulzar Ahmad @Beta son of Gh Nabi Wani and Mohd Rafiq son of Mohd Ismail Ganaie both residents of Mohanviji Kakapora have indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in their residential houses”.
Stating that on receiving the said information, a Police party of PS Kakapora headed by SHO PS Kakapora alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the specific locations and upon searches recovered 27Kgs of Cannabis leaves and 28Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said residential houses, police in it’s statement however said that the accused persons managed to escape and efforts are on to effect their arrest.
In the concluded para of its above referred statement police said that cases vide FIR No. 136/2021 and FIR No. 137/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kakapora and further investigations have been initiated.
