Fears of fluctuations in covid cases

Though people of Jammu & Kashmir are proud of covid care warriors for the excellent work they have done to successfully reduce the intensity of covid-19 pandemic but the nonstop fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases witnessed during last three months has generated  huge concerns about covid spread in Jammu & Kashmir particularly Kashmir valley. Wisdom demands that both the people and as well as covid care workers draw lessons from the experiences of the first two high intensity waves of covid-19 pandemic and accordingly plan measures for blocking the arrival of a possible third wave of pandemic. Unless and until the reasons specific for fluctuations in the no of daily covid cases are not ascertained and calculated, prompt measures can not be taken to stop the fluctuations in the no of covid cases  witnessed during last more than three months in Jammu & Kashmir. Obviously increasing intensity in the violation of covid appropriate behaviour could be one big reason for nonstop fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir. Since the intensity in the fluctuations in daily no of covid cases is far far higher in Kashmir valley than Jammu region wisdom demands that prompt measures are taken to reduce the fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases in Kashmir valley. Interestingly in Kashmir valley also fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases is far far higher in two central Kashmir districts Srinagar and Budgam and North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Wisdom demands that covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) is forcefully enforced in Srinagar, Budgam and Baramulla district where the intensity of the public movement is comparatively much higher than in other valley districts.

Covid care warriors of the health department can’t alone fight covid-19 pandemic but involvement of the people in the awareness campaign on implementation of covid appropriate behaviour is a key to the plans of blocking the third wave of covid-19 pandemic in Jammu & Kashmir like other states and union territories of the country.

The intensity of the fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases by all standards of understandability won’t spread to other districts if  covid appropriate behaviour is forcefully implemented in Srinagar, Budgam and Baramulla the three valley districts where unprecedented rise in the no of daily covid case has been witnessed during last three months. Deputy Commissioners asking field functionaries of the health department to continue mass awareness on implementation of covid appropriate behaviour is not sufficient enough to reduce the intensity of fluctuations in the daily no of covid cases across Jammu & Kashmir but a public awareness campaign on implementation of covid appropriate behaviour is no less important than the ongoing covid vaccination drive in Jammu & Kashmir.
