‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahaotsav’: DIC Kulgam organises daylong Awareness prog

Kulgam: As part of ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign, the Industries and Commerce department (District Industries Centre, Kulgam) Tuesday organised a day long awareness programme here.
The programme was jointly inaugurated by District Development (DDC) Chairperson Kulgam, Mohd Afzal Parrey and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
Present on the occasion were, DDC member Kulgam, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din, Chief Horticultural Officer, AD-Handloom and other officers besides representatives of Agricultural Department, Animal Husbandry and other departments also attended the programme.
Students from ITI, Polytechnic College and scores of unemployed youth also participated in the programme.
At the outset of the programme, General Manager Kulgam, Shabnum Rasheed gave a general overview of the industrial profile of the District.
The DDC, Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner also distributed sponsorship letters to the entrepreneurs under PMEGP scheme and also sanction letters among two MSME unit holders for 100 percent subsidy for DG sets were distributed among beneficiaries.
During this day-long awareness session, officers from line departments gave detailed information of various self employment schemes to the participants.
Stalls were also installed at the campsite to put on display various items and products manufactured by local business unit holders who have successfully established their business units after availing benefits of various self employment generation schemes.
