Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: Sports Deptt Kishtwar hosts series of activities

Kishtwar:A series of activities were Saturday organized by sports Department Kishtwar under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’
A Clean India drive was organized here at spring Bimalnag Drabshalla, a beautiful picnic spot.
Sports employees of block Drabshalla, students and organizer Kalash Gupta, Incharge ZPEO took part in the event. Surrounding areas of spring Bimal Nag were cleaned, while the participants took a Swachhta pledge.
Speaking on the occasion, the ZPEO urged all participants to work for Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan.
Apart from this, YSS department, in collaboration with Kishtwar academy of Martial arts organized an inter school Zonal Level trial cum selection of “TANG- SOO-DU” at Hata Kishtwar.
Over 35 students from different schools participated in the event which was inaugurated by District Youth Services & Sport Officer, Kharati Lal Sharma, in presence of coach-cum District in charge of Martial-Art, Sachin Kumar Thakur(black belt).
Meanwhile, an Inter – School Zonal athletic competition was also inaugurated by the DYSSO.
Trail cum selection was made by the experts. The venues for different events were set at HSS BVM and at Historic Chowgan Kishtwar.
DYSSO Kishtwar visited all venues along with Ravi Kumar I/c ZPEO Kishtwar.
The athletic event of 100 mtr, 200 mtr, 400 mtr and 600 mtr run, high jump, long jump, Shot Put, Discus throw and 4×100 mtr relay were held and boys & girls were selected by the convener Vijay Kumar for next inter zonal district level competition .
