Srinagar: Introduction of 68 new critical care ambulance for integration with the existing 108 ambulances Thursday this week would in the opinion of many health specialists hugely bring respite to the hapless patients in trying times in Jammu & Kashmir as the critical care ambulances according to them plays a bigger role in a pandemic like health crisis in any part of the world and same holds good for Jammu & Kashmir. It may be recalled here that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Thursday this week felicitated Covid warriors including doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, and ambulance drivers for their selfless service to humanity in trying times, and flagged off 68 critical care ambulances that have to be integrated with the existing fleet of 108 ambulances. Significantly these ambulances will be monitored round-the-clock through a centralized call centre. Lt Governor virtually attended the event of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who dedicated Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) oxygen generation plants across the states & UTs from Uttarakhand. Launching of108 Sahayakdoot App, a live Ambulance tracking tool for providing guidance to first responders would surely boost the emergency health services across Jammu & Kashmir as stated by Lt Governor himself also. The Lt Governor’s praise for the 50 Covid warriors including doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and ambulance drivers for their selfless service to humanity in trying times would surely boosted their morale, said an office bearer of the Doctors Association Kashmir. Felicitating the covid warriors the Lt Governor said “In the last 18 months, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed real-life heroes behind PPE kits and masks, who risked their own lives to save others. I salute them for selfless service, kindness, and courage. They have been a beacon of hope in the trying times. I pay my heartfelt tributes to all health workers who sacrificed their lives while selflessly serving others”. Sharing the experience of battle against covid-19 pandemic in last two years the Lt Governor also recalled the pictures and videos of J&K’s health workers travelling through difficult terrains to vaccinate people and said that the Jammu and Kashmir model for best Covid management was discussed in the entire country.
Placing on record the achievement of record 1 lakh 78 thousand vaccinations done in a single day on October 4, the Lt Governor said that soon target of 100 percent in administering first dose to the population above 18 years will be achieve soon. Mention about increase in oxygen generation capacity in hospitals of J&K from 14,000 LPM last year to one lakh LPM this year by Lt Government would further stabilise the system of health emergencies in J&K”, said a top health official at one of the biggest referral hospitals in Srinagar. Yet another measure of encouragement for covid warriors would be appreciation certificate from the Government as announce by Advisor to Lt Governor R R Bhatnagar Ensuring enough oxygen Beds, Oxygen supply, and medicines in J&K during the two waves of Covid 19 was indeed a great job done by covid warriors as remarked by Vivek Hardwarj the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department. The details outlined by Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, Mission Director NHM about 33 Oxygen Generation Plants for J&K inaugurated Thursday this week are more than satisfying, said head of a major covid health facility centre in Srinagar.
