Drug peddler arrested in Budgam: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered narcotic substance and cash ₹50000/= from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that a police party of Police Post Humhama at a checkpoint established at Hyderpora Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Swift) bearing registration No JK01N-5811 with one person onboard identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Batahaar Narkara and upon checking 4grams of narcotic substance (apparently Brown Sugar) and cash of ₹50000/- was recovered from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Stating that vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized, police in the above referred statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been set into motion.
