Srinagar: The Director Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Kashmir kick started felicitation function under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ at Municipal Committee Handwara, here.
More than 40 such functions were held across all the 40 Urban Local Bodies of Kashmir.
Around 925 frontline workers were felicitated during these functions and apart from Certificates, Mementos, Cash rewards were distributed among the Safaimitras for their dedication and tremendous work in their field especially during the pandemic.
Special sanitation drives around water bodies were conducted which include famous largest fresh water lake Wullar and some important streams like Doodh Ganga, Budgam Nallah etc.
Various Deputy Commissioners along with sectoral officers also participated in the sanitation drives organised by the Municipal Councils/Committees of Kashmir Division.
The Director ULB Kashmir also visited Municipal Council Baramulla, Sopore and Municipal Committee Hajin where she along with the Presidents of these ULB’s felicitated the Safaimitras.
She along with President Municipal Committee Handwara laid foundation stone of Hazrat Khadeeja (RA) Women Market, Community cum Marriage Hall and Children Park with open air gymnasium at Handwara.
