DDC B’gam reviews progress on District CAPEX, B2V, Languishing projects

Officers directed to complete works within stipulated time

Budgam:The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Friday reviewed the progress of developmental works taken under District CAPEX, Back to Village and Languishing Projects in a meeting held at DC office Complex, here.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that keeping in view the ensuing winter season, all the pending Projects and works should be completed within stipulated time on war footing basis. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure timely release of payments for contractors.
It was revealed in the meeting that 2112 developmental works have been approved under District Capex, DDC, BDC and PRI Grants for which tenders have also been allotted in most of the works. The DDC exhorted upon all concerned executing agencies to expedite the process of allocation of tenders for pending works.
The DDC took sector wise review of Departments including PHE, R&B, Irrigation, PDD, Elementary/Higher education and Youth Services besides Sports.
Taking strong note of non performance by contractors, the DDC Directed the officers to initiate action as warranted under law and ensure contractors are made accountable of contractual obligation.
During the meeting, Ex. Ers of PHE, R&B, PDD, Irrigation apprised the chair that most of the works taken under Back to village have been completed. The DDC instructed to complete all remaining B2V works within one month.
There shall be another review meeting of all works, to monitor the pace and progress of projects/works, the DDC said.
The DDC reiterated that Projects/works under various schemes should be completed in all respects including technical sanction, administrative approval, physical and financial requirements. There shall be no delay in issuance of tenders for which administrative approval has been accorded, he added.
While commenting upon the Languishing Projects, the DDC instructed all concerned executing agencies to redouble their efforts to achieve the target well in time. He stressed upon completion of construction of roads, buildings and bridges as envisaged in target before the onset of winter season.
Among others, the meeting was also attended by GM DIC, CPO, ACD, ACP, CEO, CMO and DSWO, Ex.Ers of all executing agencies, BDOs and other concerned officers and officials.
