Jammu: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Junior Engineer Electric Division-II, JPDCL, Jammu (J&K), for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a case was registered on a complaint against Junior Engineer, Electric Division-II, JPDCL, Jammu. It was alleged that the accused was demanding bribe from the complainant for updating the details of newly installed electricity meter in the records, and for not charging electricity bill at flat rate.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant. Searches are being conducted Thursday at the premises of the accused at Jammu.
The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jammu
