Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: DC Pulwama finalizes arrangements for ‘Clean India’

Pulwama: In order to discuss and finalize the necessary arrangements related to the conduct of ‘Clean India’ under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Chowdhary Thursday convened a meeting of the concerned officers at DC Office, here.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various aspects of the arrangements related to the successful conduct of the Clean India besides various decisions were taken in the meeting and responsibilities were allotted to different departments.
During the 31 days long cleanliness drive, various Government buildings, Office premises, Parks, Panchayat Ghars and other public places shall be cleaned and garbage shall be removed from road sides besides awareness shall be raised among masses about the importance of cleanliness.
Several localities at Panchayat level have been identified and cleaned by the officials of Rural Development, members of Panchayat Raj Institutions with active participation of local volunteers. Block Development Officers, Sarpanchs and Panchs also participated in cleanliness drives at different blocks and Panchayats.
Special focus was laid on the cleanliness of water bodies and removal of waste from road sides.
Meanwhile, the DC has called for conducting special cleanliness and sanitation drives in all Panchayat Halqas, Municipal Wards with focus on schools, Panchayat Ghars, Health Institutions, Water bodies with due participation of all stakeholders especially the youngsters.
The programme is being celebrated from 1st of October to 31st of October 2021. During this 31 days drive the cleanliness campaign will be conducted in all the departmental offices throughout the district.
The DC directed the concerned departments to work in earnest to make timely arrangements. He also impressed upon them to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time to ensure smooth and hassle free conduct of the Clean India programme.
Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Sheikh Ab Aziz, Additional Deputy Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Awantipora and Tral, Principal Degree College Pulwama, Pampore, Rajpora and Tral, Principal Women’s Degree College Pulwama, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Tehsildars, Block Development Officers, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
